The Pittsburgh Pirates on Sunday placed left-hander Angel Perdomo on the 15-day injured list because of left elbow discomfort, with the move retroactive to Saturday.

The Pirates also activated right-hander Dauri Moreta, who was out with lower back inflammation, from the 15-day IL. Moreta had made one rehabilitation appearance for Triple-A Indianapolis, pitching one scoreless inning with two strikeouts.

Perdomo, 29, is 3-2 with a 3.72 ERA, 11 walks and 44 strikeouts in 29 innings over 30 relief appearances this season. His last appearance was against the Minnesota Twins on Friday, when he yielded two runs on three hits in two-thirds of an inning.

Moreta, 27, is 4-2 with a 4.10 ERA, 22 walks and 63 strikeouts in 48 1/3 innings over 48 relief appearances this season. He had not pitched for the Pirates since Aug. 3.
