The Philadelphia Phillies officially placed second baseman Jean Segura on the injured list Wednesday with a fractured right index finger.

The Phillies recalled left-hander Cristopher Sanchez and infielder Nick Maton from Triple-A Lehigh Valley, while outfielder Roman Quinn was designated for assignment.

Segura was hit on the hand while attempting to bunt in the seventh inning of Tuesday’s game against the San Francisco Giants. After a CT scan Wednesday, he is expected to be out 10-12 weeks and will undergo surgery as soon as Friday.

Segura, 32, was batting .275 with a .329 on-base percentage in 44 games with the Phillies and has six home runs with 19 RBIs. The two-time All-Star is a career .285 hitter over 11 seasons and has 103 home runs with 478 RBIs for the Los Angeles Angels (2012), Milwaukee Brewers (2012-15), Arizona Diamondbacks (2016), Seattle Mariners (2017-18) and Phillies.

Maton, 25, has 52 games of major league experience, all last season with the Phillies, playing 21 of those games (15 starts) at second. He batted .256 with two home runs and 14 RBIs for the Phillies last season and was batting .241 with five home runs and 30 RBIs in 41 games for Lehigh Valley this season.

Sanchez, 25, was 0-1 with a 5.84 ERA in five appearances for the Phillies this season and is 1-1 with a 5.40 ERA in 12 career appearances over the past two seasons for the Phillies.

Quinn, 29, was batting .162 over 37 at-bats with the Phillies this season. Over six seasons and 201 games, all with Philadelphia, he is a career .223 hitter with eight home runs and 41 RBIs.
