MLB: Orioles activate RHP Thyago Vieira to roster

The Baltimore Orioles activated right-hander Thyago Vieira to the active roster Monday after he was acquired in a trade with the Milwaukee Brewers on Saturday.

Left-hander Nick Vespi was optioned to Triple-A Norfolk.

Vieira and right-hander Aneuris Rodriguez both were acquired from the Brewers for right-hander Garrett Stallings.

Vieira, 31, has five seasons of major league experience. The Brazil native is 2-2 with a 6.18 ERA and two saves in 41 relief appearances for the Seattle Mariners (2017), Chicago White Sox (2018-19) and Brewers (2023-24). He had a 5.64 ERA in 16 appearances for Milwaukee this season.

Vespi, 28, made one scoreless appearance for the Orioles this season and is 6-0 with a 4.07 ERA in 35 relief appearances for Baltimore over the past three seasons.
