New York Mets outfielder Starling Marte is done for the season, manager Buck Showalter confirmed Wednesday.

Marte has been on the 10-day injured list since Aug. 7 with a right groin strain.

That came just two games after he returned from a previous IL stint for migraines.

Marte, 34, had been scheduled for a simulated game on Tuesday but it was scratched due to rain.

He finishes the season with a .248 average with five home runs, 28 RBIs and 24 stolen bases in 86 games.

The two-time All-Star and two-time Gold Glove winner is a career .287 hitter with 147 homers, 593 RBIs and 338 steals in 1,338 games with the Pittsburgh Pirates (2012-19), Arizona Diamondbacks (2020), Miami Marlins (2020-21), Oakland Athletics (2021) and Mets.

Marte has two seasons remaining on a four-year, $78 million deal he signed with New York in December 2021.
