Miami Marlins left-hander Braxton Garrett underwent revision surgery on the ulnar collateral ligament in his throwing elbow and will miss the entire 2025 season, the Miami Herald reported Wednesday.

Garrett, 27, had an internal brace inserted in December, per the report.

Garrett went 2-2 with a 5.35 ERA in seven starts for the Marlins last season before being placed on the injured list with a forearm flexor strain.

A first-round pick (No. 7 overall) of the Marlins in 2016, Garrett began the 2024 season on the IL with a left shoulder impingement and didn’t make his season debut until May 12.

Over parts of five seasons with Miami, Garrett is 16-19 with a 4.03 ERA in 65 games (63 starts) spanning 326 1/3 innings.
