MLB: Mariners activate LHP Tayler Saucedo from IL

The Seattle Mariners reinstated left-hander Tayler Saucedo from the 15-day injured list on Sunday.

Saucedo, 30, sustained a right knee injury while covering first base in the eighth inning of a game against the Minnesota Twins on May 7. He struck out one batter in one scoreless inning of relief in a rehab assignment with Triple-A Tacoma on Thursday.

Saucedo is 1-0 with one save and a 2.70 ERA in 14 relief appearances this season for Seattle. He is 4-2 with two saves and a 4.03 ERA in 99 career appearances with the Toronto Blue Jays and Mariners.

Also Sunday, the Mariners optioned right-hander Eduard Bazardo to Tacoma.

Bazardo, 28, is 1-0 with a 5.87 ERA in five relief appearances this season with Seattle. He is 2-0 with a 3.77 ERA in 31 career relief appearances with the Boston Red Sox, Baltimore Orioles and Mariners.
