St. Louis Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina is in the running to win his 10th career Gold Glove Award.

The 39-year-old Molina has won more Gold Gloves than any active player, and is one of three National League catcher candidates after the list of finalists was unveiled Thursday by Rawlings Sporting Goods Company, Inc.

The other NL catching finalists are J.T. Realmuto of the Philadelphia Phillies and Jacob Stallings of the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Molina won his most recent Gold Glove in 2018. He threw out 18 of 44 base stealers (40.9 percent) this season.

The Gold Glove winners will be announced Nov. 7.

St. Louis third baseman Nolan Arenado is seeking his ninth straight Gold Glove. He’s won the honor in every season of his career with the only longer streaks by a third baseman belonging to Hall of Famers Brooks Robinson (16, 1960-75) and Mike Schmidt (nine, 1976-84).

The other NL finalists at third base are Manny Machado of the San Diego Padres and Ryan McMahon of the Colorado Rockies. Ironically, McMahon became Colorado’s starting third baseman after Arenado was traded to the St. Louis Cardinals.

Among American Leagues, Seattle Mariners shortstop J.P. Crawford is looking to repeat after winning his first Gold Glove last season.

“It’s an honor to be named a finalist again,” Crawford said in a news release. “… Also gotta shout out Ty France for an incredible year at first base, picking everything over there.”

Carlos Correa of the Houston Astros and Andrelton Simmons of the Minnesota Twins are the other finalists.

The Cardinals lead all major teams with six finalists.

The award was first given out in 1957.
