MLB: Dodgers activate closer Craig Kimbrel from paternity list

The Los Angeles Dodgers reinstated closer Craig Kimbrel from the paternity list Friday and optioned fellow right-hander Mitch White to Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Kimbrel, 34, missed three games. He is 0-2 with 4.00 ERA and 25 strikeouts in 18 innings, converting 11 of his 12 save chances on the season.

The eight-time All-Star is the active MLB leader in saves with 383 to go with a 35-31 record and a 2.23 ERA over 13 seasons (664 games) with the Atlanta Braves, San Diego Padres, Boston Red Sox, Chicago Cubs, Chicago White Sox and Dodgers.

White, 27, tossed five scoreless innings against the White Sox on Tuesday. He is 1-1 with a 3.86 ERA in nine games (four starts) this season.
