The first game of the season between National League Central rivals the Chicago Cubs and St. Louis Cardinals will have to wait a day after Friday’s scheduled matchup at St. Louis was postponed by rain.

Friday’s game was rescheduled as part of a split doubleheader in St. Louis on July 13.

Pitching plans for Saturday were not yet known. The Cubs had planned to send left-hander Shota Imanaga (5-0, 0.84 ERA) to the mound Friday, while the Cardinals were expected to go with right-hander Miles Mikolas (3-5, 5.77).
