The Toronto Blue Jays placed left-hander Hyun Jin Ryu on the injured list Thursday with left forearm inflammation.

The move comes one day after Ryu exited a game against the Chicago White Sox with the injury. He received a no-decision after allowing three runs on four hits — including two homers — in four innings. He also had forearm discomfort during an outing last week against the Los Angeles Angels.

Ryu is making his second trip to the injured list this season and fourth since signing a four-year, $80 million contract with Toronto in 2019.

The 35-year-old native of South Korea is 2-0 with a 5.33 ERA in six starts this season. He owns a 75-45 record with a 3.26 ERA in 175 career games (174 starts) with the Los Angeles Dodgers (2013-19) and Blue Jays.

Also on Thursday, the Blue Jays selected the contract of right-hander Jeremy Beasley from Triple-A Buffalo.

Beasley, 26, is 0-1 with a 7.45 ERA in nine career relief appearances with the Arizona Diamondbacks (2020) and Blue Jays.
