MLB: Athletics place OF Esteury Ruiz (wrist) on injured list

The Oakland Athletics placed outfielder Esteury Ruiz on the 10-day injured list Thursday with a strained left wrist.

Ruiz, 25, is batting .200 with two homers, eight RBIs and five stolen bases in 29 games this season.

He led the American League with 67 steals in 2023, batting .254 with 47 RBIs in 132 games for Oakland.

The A’s also called up outfielder Daz Cameron from Triple-A Las Vegas and designated infielder Jordan Diaz for assignment.

Cameron, 27, last appeared in the majors with the Detroit Tigers in 2022. He is hitting .307 with six homers and 27 RBIs in 41 games this season with Las Vegas.

Diaz, 23, batted .227 with 10 homers and 28 RBIs in 105 games with Oakland from 2022-23. He is batting .204 with two homers and 10 RBIs in 29 games in 2024 with Las Vegas.
