The Houston Astros placed two-time All-Star closer Ryan Pressly on the 15-day injured list Thursday due to neck spasms.

The move was retroactive to Monday.

The right-hander last pitched on Sunday against the Atlanta Braves when he recorded his 25th save of the season. Pressly, 33, is 3-3 with a 3.11 ERA in 39 appearances.

“His neck is not any better. About the same or worse,” Houston manager Dusty Baker told reporters prior to Thursday’s home game against the Minnesota Twins.

Houston recalled right-hander Seth Martinez from Triple-A Sugar Land in a corresponding move. Martinez was recently sent down after Lance McCullers Jr. came off the injured list.

He has made 23 appearances for Houston this season and is 0-1 with a 2.48 ERA.

Baker also said that outfielder Chas McCormick will likely be sidelined two days with a dislocated finger. McCormick injured his right pinky finger on Wednesday while trying to get back to first of a pickoff attempt in the seventh inning. He left the contest.

McCormick, 27, is batting .238 with 12 homers and 37 RBIs in 91 games.

All-Star outfielder Kyle Tucker (foot) wasn’t in Thursday’s starting lineup. Baker termed the 25-year-old as day to day.

Tucker has a 16-game hitting streak and is batting .260 with 22 homers and 82 RBIs in 115 games.
