The final three spots in the 2024 League of Legends World Championship in Berlin have been filled, and nobody found a more dramatic way to advance than Weibo Gaming.

All three of the day’s matches went the full three maps, with FlyQuest and Bilibili Gaming also advancing.

The Swiss Stage format of the $2.225 million event sorted 16 teams through five rounds, with the top eight teams after the five rounds advancing to the single-elimination knockout stage. All knockout matches are best-of-five, with the grand final being played on Nov. 2.

The world champion receives $445,000, with the runner-up taking home $356,000. All eight quarterfinalists are guaranteed at least $100,125.

Facing Dplus in the day’s opening match, Weibo lost the first map on red in 43 minutes but came back to take the next two maps, each in 30 minutes. Weibo was on blue in Map 2 and red in the final map.

FlyQuest and Bilibili played similar matches, with both teams bookending a loss on the second map with wins. Against G2 Esports, Bilibili won on red in 35 minutes, lost on red in 30 minutes, and won on blue in 35 minutes to take the match.

FlyQuest topped Team Liquid in 38 minutes on blue, lost on red in 33 minutes, then bounced back to close out the match with a 29-minute win on blue.
