The Red Bull Solo Q World Finals will take place Dec. 4-5 at BMW Welt in Munich, pitting the top 20 players competing in a two-day offline final for the official 1v1 League of Legends tournament title.
In addition to the title, the winner will receive a live-viewing experience at an upcoming official Riot Games tournament.
The Red Bull Solo Q began in April and has featured more than 40 national and international qualifiers. Amateur players competed for a spot in the Regional Finals before the event moved on to head-to-head competition in the National Finals.
Eefje “Sjokz” Depoortere, who has been the face of the competition for the past three years, will be on-site for the World Finals.
The Solo Q features a unique format with 1v1 duels where the player must draw “First Blood,” take down the opponent’s tower or reach a 100-minion score to claim victory.
Mid laner Erik “ZiViZ” Lovgren is among the players who has used the Solo Q as a springboard into a professional career. He won the 2018 Red Bull Player One, the previous iteration of the event, while representing Sweden.
“It’s always been a childhood dream to represent Sweden, be it through football, table tennis or esports,” he said. “I loved wearing a jersey with the Swedish flag and my name on it.”
