LYON and FlyQuest remained unbeaten at 3-0 through Saturday’s competition of the LTA North 2025 Split 2 to top the standings in the League of Legends tournament’s Positioning Phase in Los Angeles.
Cloud9 and Team Liquid, each 2-1, also won as the second of three weeks of positioning play got underway.
Eight teams are competing over three weeks (April 5-20) of positioning play — a round-robin format in which each team plays the other seven once. Each match is one map and the results will determine Groups A and B for the group stage that begins on April 26 and runs to May 18.
Following the group stage and one week of cross-group battles, the top six teams will advance to the best-of-five, double-elimination playoffs on May 24-June 15. The total prize pool is $160,000, with $80,000 going to the winner and $40,000 to the runner-up. The winner also receives entry into the Mid-Season Invitational and the winner and runner-up qualify for the Esports World Cup.
Cloud9 kept Disguised winless (0-3) in 35 minutes on blue, with Lee “Loki” Sang-min of South Korea named MVP. FlyQuest stayed unblemished with a 29-minute victory on red over 100 Thieves. The MVP was Kacper “Inspired” Sloma of Poland.
Team Liquid took down Dignitas (0-3) in 30 minutes on red, with American Eain “APA” Stearns the MVP. LYON needed 33 minutes on blue to beat Shopify Rebellion (1-2). Eric “Licorice” Ritchie of Canada was MVP.
