LOL: LNG Esports among 4 teams to start Swiss Stage 2-0 at LoL Worlds

LNG Esports, Gen.G Esports, Hanwha Life Esports and Dplus advanced to the Round 3 High matches by winning their Round 2 fixtures on Friday at the 2024 League of Legends World Championship Swiss Stage in Berlin.

Those four clubs are now one win away from punching their tickets to the Knockout Stage at the $2,225,000 championship event.

The Swiss Stage format sorted 16 teams into eight Round 1 matches, with Rounds 2 through 5 seeded based on win-loss record. Teams that reach three wins advance to the knockout stage, while teams that wind up with three losses are eliminated.

Elimination and advancement matches are best-of-three, while all others are best-of-one.

On Friday, LNG defeated Bilibili Gaming in 30 minutes on red, while Gen.G won a 34-minute match against Top Esports playing on blue.

Hanwha Life had the longest match of the day, needing 46 minutes to beat G2 Esports on red. Dplus took down FlyQuest in 33 minutes on blue.

The four losing sides move into the Round 3 mid matches, as do the four winners of the Round 2 low matches.

Weibo Gaming topped Team Liquid in 42 minutes on red; T1 cruised past paiN Gaming in 25 minutes on blue; Fnatic won a 33-minute match over GAM Esports playing on blue; and PSG Talon used 32 minutes to beat MAD Lions KOI playing on blue.
