In a battle of unbeatens, Team Liquid rallied to beat Cloud9 2-1 on Sunday as teams continue to battle for playoff positions in the League Championship Series Summer Split.
After losing the opening match in 39 minutes on red, Team Liquid stormed back to win in 24 minutes on blue and 34 minutes on red to improve to 6-0, sitting atop the standings.
Cloud9 fell to 5-1 and is in a second-place tie with FlyQuest, who held on to beat Shopify Rebellion 2-1.
Eight teams are fighting for six spots in the League of Legends Summer Split’s double-elimination playoff bracket. The top two seeds will head to the upper-bracket semifinals, with the other four seeds duking it out in the upper-bracket quarterfinals.
All group-play matches are best-of-three, while the playoff matches are best-of-five. The winner of the tournament will take home $100,000 of the $200,000 prize pool, with the top three teams qualifying for the World Championship.
The teams have one more chance to improve their standing next weekend, when group play ends.
