LOL: Gen.G defeat Bilibili Gaming to reach MSI final

Gen.G defeated Bilibili Gaming 3-1 on Thursday to secure a berth in the grand final of the League of Legends Mid-Season Invitational 2024 in Chengdu, China.

The grand final is scheduled for Sunday, and Gen.G await the winner of Saturday’s lower-bracket final. In that round, Bilibili Gaming will face the winner of the lower-bracket semifinal pitting T1 and G2 Esports.

BG started Thursday’s upper-bracket final with a 36-minute win on red, and Gen.G followed with a pair of 29-minute victories — first on blue and then red — before capturing the decisive map in 42 minutes on red.

The $250,000 tournament began on May 1 with 12 teams competing for a $50,000 grand prize and qualification into the 2024 World Championship.

With the win by South Korea’s Gen.G, the League of Legends Champions Korea earned a fourth spot in the worlds.
