LOL: G2 Esports gain berth in lower bracket semis at MSI Invitational

G2 Esports recorded a 3-0 victory over Top Esports on Tuesday to move to the lower-bracket semifinal at the League of Legends Mid-Season Invitational 2024 in Chengdu, China.

G2 posted 29- and 24-minute wins on red before emerging victorious in blue in Game 3 to advance to Friday’s lower-bracket semifinal. They will face the winner of Wednesday’s contest pitting T1 and Team Liquid. T1 notched a 3-2 win over G2 Esports in the upper-bracket quarterfinals last Friday.

Top Esports were eliminated with Tuesday’s loss.

The $250,000 tournament began on May 1 with 12 teams competing for a $50,000 grand prize and qualification into the 2024 World Championship. The play-in stage concluded May 5, with the bracket stage opening last Tuesday. The title match is scheduled for Sunday.
