FlyQuest responded to an early deficit with vengeance, earning a 3-1 victory over Cloud9 on Sunday in the upper-bracket semifinals of the League Championship Series Summer Split playoffs in Los Angeles.
After falling in 36 minutes to open their match with Cloud9, FlyQuest rattled off victories in 33 minutes and 40 minutes before a 26-minute win secured their spot in the upper-bracket final. That’s where FlyQuest will face Team Liquid, who blanked 100 Thieves 3-0 on Saturday.
South Korean Song “Quad” Su-hyeong shined for FlyQuest, posting 25 kills and 22 assists. He had just five deaths.
All playoff matches in North America’s top League of Legends competition are best-of-five. The winner of the tournament will take home $100,000 of the $200,000 prize pool, with the top three teams qualifying for the World Championship.
