Cloud9 used a head-to-head victory to move into a tie with FlyQuest atop the standings of the LTA North 2025 Split 2 positioning phase of the League of Legends tournament in Los Angeles on Sunday.

Cloud9 (5-1) played on blue and won the match against FlyQuest in 28 minutes. Lee “Loki” Sang-min of South Korea was named MVP.

Team Liquid and 100 Thieves also posted victories to move within one game of the co-leaders at 4-2. Playing on red, the Thieves turned back LYON in 35 minutes, led by MVP Rayan “Sniper” Shoura of Canada. Liquid knocked off Shopify Rebellion, with Eom “UmTi” Seong-hyeon of South Korea earning MVP honors.

In a matchup of previously winless teams, Dignitas (1-5) was playing on blue as they turned back Disguised (0-6) in 30 minutes. Jade “Sheiden” Libut, a Canadian/Filipino player, picked up match MVP honors.

Eight teams are competing through Monday in positioning play — a round-robin format in which each team plays the other seven once. Each match is one map and the results will determine Groups A and B for the group stage, which begins Saturday and runs through May 18.

Following the group stage and one week of cross-group battles, the top six teams will advance to the best-of-five, double-elimination playoffs on May 24-June 15. The total prize pool is $160,000, with $80,000 going to the winner and $40,000 to the runner-up. The winner also receives entry into the Mid-Season Invitational and the winner and runner-up qualify for the Esports World Cup.
