DOTA: Xtreme, Falcons reach upper-bracket final at PGL Wallachia playoffs

Xtreme Gaming and Team Falcons will clash in the upper-bracket final after advancing through the semifinals of the Dota PGL Wallachia Season 1 event on Friday in Bucharest, Romania.

Xtreme posted its second 2-0 sweep in two days, beating Team Spirit. Falcons rallied past Team Liquid 2-1.

On Friday, Xtreme defeated Spirit in 49 minutes and 44 minutes on green. Wang “Ame” Chunyu of China posted an average kills-deaths-assists ratio of 14.0-1.0-11.0 across the two maps for Xtreme.

Liquid opened with a 47-minute win on green before Falcons punched back with 42-minute and 30-minute wins on red. Over the last two maps, Oliver “skiter” Lepko of Slovakia had 33 kills and 25 assists with just one death for Falcons.

Spirit and Liquid dropped into the lower-bracket quarterfinals, where they will meet the winners of a pair of Round 1 matches from Friday. G2 x iG beat Aurora 2-1 and BOOM Esports defeated Gaimin Gladiators 2-0.

The $1 million Dota 2 event started with 16 teams in a modified Swiss-system group stage. The top eight teams will begin the double-elimination playoffs on Thursday, while the bottom eight were eliminated.

All matches in the tournament are best-of-three except for the best-of-five grand final on Sunday. The winner will earn $300,000, with the runner-up receiving $175,000.

–Xtreme Gaming vs. Team Falcons (upper-bracket final)
–Team Liquid vs. G2 x iG (lower-bracket quarterfinal)
–Team Spirit vs. BOOM Esports (lower-bracket quarterfinal)
–Liquid-G2 winner vs. Spirit-BOOM winner (lower-bracket semifinal)
