In an attempt to resolve an internal difference in playing philosophy among its team members, Virtus Pro has announced it will be putting two of its Dota 2 roster spots up for grabs ahead of next season.
Its social media announcement read in part: “At this point we realize that our team has problems outside of the game as well as the contradicting ideas of how we should play. … Considering the situation we decided to try out some new players for positions 1 and 4.”

Two players, Egor “Nightfall” Grigorenko and Vitalie “Save-” Melnic, will now have their starting positions put into question, be that through a simple swap, demotion, release or some other method.
Challenging one’s own players publicly is an atypical move. Likewise, very few of the top European Dota 2 teams have made any changes to their rosters after The International 10.
Virtus Pro finished fifth in that tournament this year, its highest finish in its current iteration.
