DOTA: Tundra Esports stay alive at Riyadh Masters

Tundra Esports rallied for a 2-1 win over BetBoom Team on Friday and advanced to the lower-bracket semifinals at the $5 million Dota 2 Riyadh Masters in Saudi Arabia.

BetBoom Team began the day with a 2-0 sweep of WBG.XG in a lower-bracket Round 2 match before being eliminated by Tundra Esports. PSG Quest sent Team Spirit home with a 2-1 win in another lower-bracket Round 2 match.

The Riyadh Masters, part of the Esports World Cup, began with 20 teams on July 4. The playoffs run through Sunday, with all remaining matches best-of-three until the best-of-five grand final.

The winning team will earn $1.5 million and 1,000 Esports World Cup team points, while the runner-up will receive $800,000 and 600 Esports World Cup team points.

BetBoom Team got the action started Friday by defeating WBG.XG in 45 minutes on green and 34 minutes on red.

BetBoom Team then opened the lower-bracket quarterfinal against Tundra Esports with a 43-minute win on green. Tundra Esports answered with wins in 43 minutes on green and 39 minutes on red to advance.

Team Spirit began with a swift 20-minute win on green, but PSG Quest answered with a 51-minute victory on red and a 38-minute win on green. PSG Quest advanced to face Team Falcons in the lower-bracket quarterfinals.

The tournament continues Saturday with three matches:
–Gaimin Gladiators vs. Team Liquid (upper-bracket final)
–Team Falcons vs. PSG Quest (lower-bracket quarterfinals)
–Tundra Esports vs. Falcons/PSG Quest winner (lower-bracket semifinals)
