DOTA: MOUZ, Tundra open with sweeps at PGL Wallachia Season 2

MOUZ and Tundra Esports began PGL Wallachia Season 2 with 2-0 sweeps on Friday in Bucharest, Romania.

The $1 million Dota 2 event opened with 16 teams in a modified Swiss-system group stage. The top eight teams will advance to the double-elimination playoffs, while the bottom eight will be eliminated.

All matches are best-of-three except for the best-of-five grand final on Oct. 13. The championship team will pocket $300,000, with the runner-up receiving $175,000.

MOUZ defeated Apex Genesis in 39 minutes on green and 50 minutes on red. Stefan “Ulnit” Gavrila of Romania led the way for MOUZ with an average kill-death-assist ratio of 13.0/4.0/15.5.

Tundra Esports swept Team Waska in 38 minutes on green and 24 minutes on red. Yeik Nai “MidOne” Zheng of Malaysia paced the winners with an average K-D-A ratio of 9.5/2.0/14.0.

Team Falcons won by forfeit over Nigma Galaxy due to an incomplete roster.

Friday’s other Round 1 results were all 2-1 wins: Azure Ray over Infinity, L1GA Team over Nouns Esports, Alliance over Invictus Gaming, HEROIC over Natus Vincere and AVULUS over beastcoast.

Action continues Saturday with four matches between 1-0 teams and four matches between 0-1 teams.
