DOTA: HEROIC among four to reach semis at PGL Wallachia Season 2

HEROIC, Tundra Esports, Team Falcons and Nouns Esports all won their upper-bracket quarterfinal matches on Thursday at the PGL Wallachia Season 2 competition in Bucharest, Romania.

HEROIC swept Infinity 2-0, while Tundra Esports did the same to Natus Vincere. Team Falcons topped beastcoast 2-1 and Nouns posted a 2-1 victory over AVULUS.

The $1 million Dota 2 event opened with 16 teams in a modified Swiss-system group stage. The top eight teams — all of which had to achieve three wins — advanced to the double-elimination playoffs, while the bottom eight were eliminated.

All matches are best-of-three except for the best-of-five grand final on Sunday. The championship team will pocket $300,000, with the runner-up receiving $175,000.

On Thursday, HEROIC notched a 43-minute win on red and closed out the match with a 28-min victory on green to oust Infinity.

Tundra made quick work of Natus Vincere, with a pair of wins on green (31 minutes and 26 minutes).

With a 50-minute triumph on red, Team Falcons grabbed the lead over beascoast, who then evened the match with a 52-minute win on red. Team Falcons bounced back in the decisive third game, a 52-minute victory on green.

AVULUS opened with a 36-minute win on green but Nouns took the next two on green (44 minutes and 52 minutes) to advance.
