Team Falcons and Tundra Esports both swept their first two Group B matches on the opening day of ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023 on Monday.
Twelve teams are competing in the $1 million Dota 2 tournament in the Malaysian capital. The winner of Sunday’s grand final will earn $300,000 and 4,800 ESL Pro Tour points.
The top two teams from each group advance to the upper bracket of the double-elimination playoffs and the third- and fourth-place teams go to the lower bracket. The bottom two teams in each group are eliminated. Group stage matches are two games, while the playoffs are best-of-three except the best-of-five grand final.
Falcons and Tundra started fast in Group B. Falcons swept LGD Gaming and Team Liquid, while Tundra swept G2.iG and 9Pandas. G2.ig and Liquid finished the day 1-0-1, while 9Pandas and LGD were 0-0-2.
