DOTA: 1win start second group stage strong at Elite League Season 2

1win cruised to a pair of 2-0 sweeps on Sunday to kick off the second group stage of Elite League Season 2 in Lima, Peru.

The first group stage featured 16 teams, with the top eight moving on to compete in best-of-three matches that will determine playoff seeding.

All eight remaining teams are in one group here in the round-robin group stage, and the top four will secure a spot in the upper bracket of the playoffs. The other four will land in the lower bracket.

On Sunday, 1win blanked nouns and Team Liquid. Russian Nikita “Munkushi” Chepurnykh had an average kills-deaths-assists ratio of 8.0-3.5-8.0 for 1win in the meeting with nouns, and he also led the way in the victory over Liquid, averaging 13.5 kills, 1.0 death and 5.0 assists.

OG followed 1win’s lead and also shut out two teams — beastcoast and Shopify Rebellion. Execration topped those same squads to get off to their 2-0 start in group-stage action.

In other action Sunday, nouns edged BOOM Esports 2-1 and BOOM Esports prevailed 2-0 against Team Liquid.
