Team Spirit will split with their Counter-Strike: Global Offensive roster following the DreamHack Open November, the Russian organization announced Sunday.

The team failed to advance in the PGL Major Stockholm 2021 earlier this week.

“Our CS:GO project that lasted for 2.5 years will come to an end after DreamHack Open November,” Spirit’s CEO Nikita “Cheshir” Chukalin said in a statement posted to Twitter. “It is safe to say that its potential wasn’t fully achieved. We have an understanding of the reasons behind it, but I am not prepared to share them just yet.”

The team currently consists of Nikolay “mir” Bityukov, Abdulkhalik “degster” Gasanov, Viktor “somedieyoung” Orudzhev, Boris “magixx” Vorobyev, Leonid “chopper” Vishnyakov and head coach Nikolay “Certus”

Cheshir said the retooled team will return to play at an unspecified time.

“Right now we are entering a rebuilding phase, and I will make sure we put all our experience into forming and managing the new roster,” Cheshir said. “I am confident that our approach will help Team Spirit achieve the highest objectives.”

The eight-team DreamHack November is set for Nov. 10-14.
