CSGO: Team Spirit, HEROIC post Group B wins at BetBoom Dacha

Team Spirit and HEROIC produced victories Wednesday as Group B action got underway in the $500,000 BetBoom Dacha Belgrade 2024 event in the Serbian capital.

Team Spirit swept Aurora Gaming 2-0, while HEROIC defeated MIBR 2-1. On Thursday in Group B, Team Spirit will face HEROIC in a winners match, with Aurora Gaming and MIBR facing off in an elimination match.

In Group A elimination match Wednesday, Team Falcons bounced back from losing the opening game to knock off BetBoom 2-1. On Thursday, MOUZ will take on Virtus.pro in a Group A winners match.

Eight teams are participating in the Counter-Strike 2 tournament. Two groups of four teams are battling in a double-elimination format, with the top two teams in each group advancing to the single-elimination playoffs.

All matches are best-of-three until Sunday’s best-of-five grand final.

Team Spirit prevailed 13-8 on Dust II and put Aurora Gaming away with a 13-7 win on Ancient. Danil ‘donk’ Kryskovets of Russia led Team Spirit to victory with 49 kills and a plus-19 kills-deaths differential.

HEROIC won 13-7 on Anubis, fell 16-13 on Dust II before pulling out the win 13-4 on Ancient. Abdul ‘degster’ Gasanov of Russia was HEROIC’s top player, posting 50 kills and a plus-18 kills-deaths differential.

Team Falcons dropped a 13-9 decision on Anubis but won the next two (13-10 on Vertigo and 13-3 on Nuke) to eliminate BetBoom. Team Falcons were led by Alvaro ‘SunPayus’ Garcia of Spain, who totaled 58 kills and a plus-27 kills-deaths differential.

The tournament continues Thursday with three matches:

— Aurora Gaming vs. MIBR (Group B elimination match)
— MOUZ vs. Virtus.pro (Group A winners match)
