CSGO: MOUZ, Vitality advance to ESL Pro League Season 21 final

Team Vitality and MOUZ advanced on Saturday to the grand final of the ESL Pro League Season 21 at Stockholm.

MOUZ emerged with a 2-1 victory over Team Spirit in one semifinal. MOUZ took a close result, 16-14, on Nuke, then fell 13-7 on Dust II before ousting Team Spirit with a 13-10 win on Ancient.

MOUZ’s Adam “torzsi” Torzsas of Hungary posted a plus-21 kill-death differential (60-39). Russia’s Danil “donk” Kryshkovets produced 64 kills and a plus-15 K-D differential.

Team Vitality knocked off The MongolZ 2-1, starting fast with a 13-4 win on Anubis. The MongolZ responded with a 16-14 victory on Nuke before Vitality crushed them 13-2 on Inferno.

Shahar “flameZ” Shushan of Israel posted a plus-26 differential (63-37 K-D), and teammate Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut of France was at plus-24 (54-30) for Vitality. None of The Mongolz were plus territory.

The $400,000 Counter-Strike: Global Offensive tournament seeded eight of its 24 teams straight into Group Stage 2. The other 16 teams began in Group Stage 1, which featured a Swiss system format of best-of-three matches. The top eight teams then advanced to Group Stage 2, which also employed a Swiss system format of best-of-three matches.

Eight teams advanced from Group Stage 2 to the single-elimination playoffs. The quarterfinals and semifinals are best-of-three before the best-of-five grand final on Sunday. The winning team will receive $100,000.
