FURIA, Gambit and Heroic all won in Round 4 competition at the Legends Stage of the PGL Major Stockholm 2021, setting up three games in Round 5 to determine the last three participants in the Champions Stage.
FURIA defeated Entropiq 16-6 on Vertigo, lost 16-8 on Nuke and won 16-12 on Ancient to advance.
Brazil’s Vinicius “VINI” Figueiredo excelled for FURIA on Vertigo, posting a 27-9 kills-to-deaths ratio. Entropiq rallied on Nuke thanks to plus-7 ratios posted by Aleksey “El1an” Gusev of Russia and Viktor “Lakc1” Boldyrev of Kazakhstan. FURIA’s Yuri “yuurih” Santos of Brazil grabbed 23 kills in the final game.
Gambit swept past Ninjas in Pyjamas (NIP) 16-13 on Dust II and 16-6 on Inferno.
Dmitry “sh1ro” Sokolov of Russia totaled 51 kills over the two games, posting a huge plus-17 in Game 1 before finishing plus-11 in Game 2. Teammate and countryman Sergey “Ax1Le” Rykhtorov added 22 kills in the final game.
Heroic won its first game against Copenhagen Flames (CPHF) 16-4 on Nuke, fell 16-13 on Ancient in Game 2 and prevailed in Game 3, 16-11 on Overpass.
Ismail “refrezh” Ali posted a K-D ratio of 20-12 in the first game for the all-Danish Heroic side. Nico “nicoodoz” Tamjidi of Denmark answered with a 27-13 ratio for CPHF in the second. Martin “stavn” Lund excelled in the decider for Heroic, netting a plus-10.
Entropiq will face Vitality in Round 5 after Vitality defeated Astralis in the Low Matches. Vitality won the first game 16-10 on Nuke, Astralis won the second game 16-14 on Vertigo and Vitality took Game 3 16-13 on Dust II.
In other Low Matches, FaZe Clan beat Team Liquid 2-0 and Virtus.pro (VP) defeated MOUZ 2-1. FaZe won 16-8 on Inferno and 22-19 on Mirage. VP dropped Game 1 16-9 on Ancient before rallying to win 16-3 on Inferno and 22-18 on Vertigo.
FaZe will face VP, and NIP will take on CPHF.
The PGL Major Stockholm 2021 is a CS:GO major championship with a total prize pool of $2 million. The winner nets $1 million plus 4,000 Blast Premier points and an automatic bid to the World Final 2021 in December.
Sixteen teams in all are competing in the Legends Stage, which runs through Nov. 2.
Elimination and advancement matches are best of three, while all other matches are best of one. The top eight teams will proceed to the New Champions Stage, which is a single-elimination bracket (best of three), set for Nov. 4-7.
