The Los Angeles Guerrillas announced they are welcoming back a familiar face in Kris “Spart” Cervantez, who was added to the roster Tuesday as a substitute player.

Spart played for the Guerrillas during the 2020 Call of Duty League season after a brief stint on the Atlanta FaZe Academy roster. During his six months with L.A., he made a handful of starts as well as various loan appearances on Challengers teams, including Team Vengeance and Rebel Esports, before officially departing in September.

“Just want to thank (LAG coach Embry ‘Bevils’ Bevil) and the rest of the staff on LAG for bringing me back home,” the 20-year-old Spart wrote on Twitter regarding the announcement. “Extremely grateful.”

Until he’s called to be a starter for the Guerrillas, Spart can continue to compete on the Challengers circuit with his current team, We Are Trying Now, which features Byron “Prolute” Vera and Mohak “Mohak” Kumar. The team won four times last season, including the 2021 Call of Duty Challengers North American Finals in November.

The Guerillas’ starting roster currently features Cuyler “Huke” Garland, Austin “SlasheR” Liddicoat, Obaid “Asim” Asim and Peirce “Gunless” Hillman. The 2022 CDL season officially begins Feb. 4.
