CALLOFDUTY: FaZe open CDL Stage 3 Major qualifying with sweep

The Atlanta FaZe, fresh off winning the Call of Duty League’s Stage 2 Major, opening qualifying for the Stage 3 Major with a 3-0 win over the Minnesota Rokkr on Friday.

In the only other match of the day, the Vegas Legion swept the Los Angeles Guerrillas 3-0.

All 12 CDL teams will play seven qualifying matches ahead of the Stage 3 Major, scheduled for May 16-19 in Toronto. Every team will advance to the double-elimination tournament, with the qualifying matches determining seeding.

Each qualifier win is worth 10 points. The prize pool for the tournament (money and CDL points) has yet to be announced.

The Toronto Ultra won the Stage 1 Major in January.

On Friday, the Faze downed the Rokkr 250-193 on Vista Hardpoint, 6-1 on Rio Search and Destroy and 3-1 on Karachi Control.

The Legion topped the Guerrillas 250-216 on 6 Star Hardpoint, 6-1 on Karachi Search and Destroy and 3-0 on Highrise Control.

Three qualifying matches are scheduled for Saturday:
–Los Angeles Guerrillas vs. Toronto Ultra
–Boston Breach vs. Miami Heretics
–New York Subliners vs. Minnesota Rokkr
