American League Most Valuable Player Shohei Ohtani will be featured on the cover of MLB The Show 22.

The video game is scheduled to be released April 5. The Japan-born Ohtani becomes the first Asian athlete in the four major American sports to grace the cover of a video game.

Ohtani, 27, won the MVP award unanimously after a stellar season as a two-way player.

San Diego Padres shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr. covered the 2021 edition.

For the first time, MLB The Show will expand to Nintendo Switch. The game also will be available for play on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.

The standard edition on last gen consoles will sell for $59.99, and for $69.99 on current gen consoles. For Nintendo Switch users, the price is $59.99.
