Play at the National Bank Open in Montreal was postponed Friday due to rain.

With the remains of what was Tropical Storm Debby an all-day threat, tournament officials decided early in the day to reschedule Friday’s action in the ATP Masters 1000 event.

That means, weather permitted, Saturday will be a full day of action, with some players needing to win twice on the day if they are to move on.

That includes defending champion and top seed Jannik Sinner of Italy, who is scheduled to play 15th-seeded Alejandro Tabilo of Chile at mid-day Saturday. The victor will play the winner of the match between qualifier Brandon Nakashima and No. 5 seed Andrey Rublev of Russia.

Both of those are second-round matches remaining to be played. In another second-round match, Arthur Rinderknech of France held a 3-0 lead over Flavio Cobolli of Italy when play was suspended Thursday.
