ATP: ATP roundup: Jack Draper jolts Carlos Alcaraz in London

Jack Draper of Great Britain stunned defending champion Carlos Alcaraz 7-6 (3), 6-3, on Thursday in the second round of the cinch Championships in London.

Draper recorded eight aces and won 82.1 percent of his first-serve points to dispatch the top-seeded Spaniard in 1 hour and 39 minutes.

Draper advances to face fifth-seeded Tommy Paul, who posted a 6-3, 6-4 win over Alejandro Tabilo of Chile.

Also on Thursday, Great Britain’s Billy Harris collected a 6-4, 7-5 win over French qualifier Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard, and Italy’s Lorenzo Musetti needed three sets to oust American Brandon Nakashima 6-4, 4-6, 6-4 in 2 hours and 27 minutes.

Top-seeded Jannik Sinner of Italy notched a 6-4, 6-7 (4), 6-3 win over Fabian Marozsan of Hungary in the second round in Halle, Germany.

Sinner fired 12 aces and overcame two double faults to dismiss Marozsan in 2 hours and 15 minutes.

Germany’s Jan-Lennard Struff held serve throughout the match in upsetting sixth-seeded Stefanos Tsitsipas of Greece, 6-4, 6-4. Struff converted two of three break-point opportunities.

Fifth-seeded Hubert Hurkacz of Poland posted a 7-6 (3), 6-4 victory over Australian qualifier James Duckworth, while American Marcos Giron rallied for a 3-6, 6-4, 6-3 win over Matteo Berrettini of Italy.
