Adrian Mannarino won his third title of 2023, defeating Jack Draper of Great Britain 7-6 (6), 2-6, 6-3 on Saturday at the Sofia Open in Sofia, Bulgaria.

The 35-year-old Frenchman, the second seed, won earlier this season in Newport and Astana.

Although Draper broke Mannarino’s serve three times, it was the third-set break by Mannarino that proved to be crucial. After being steamrolled in the second set, Mannarino, leading 3-2 in the third, cracked Draper’s serve to go up 4-2 and gain some breathing room. He then fought off a pair of break points in his final service game to win the match.

Draper, 21, was attempting to win his first ATP Tour title. For Mannarino, Saturday’s win was the fifth of his career.

Moselle Open

Fourth seed Ugo Humbert delighted the home crowd, defeating Russian Alexander Shevchenko 6-3, 6-3 to win his first ATP title since 2021 in Metz, France.

Humbert, 25, won points on 86 percent (25 of 29) of his first serves and broke Shevchenko’s serve four times in seven chances on the way to his fourth tour victory.

Humbert, who was born in Metz, becomes France’s top-ranked player with the win.

Shevchenko, who turns 23 later this month, was competing in his first ATP Tour final.
