According to friends and family on Tuesday, Ali Spice, a former Hooters girl with nearly a million TikTok followers, died with two other friends when a wrong-way driver plowed into their car on State Road 44 near DeLand early Sunday. Her real name was Ali Dulin, and she went by Ali Spice or @alidxo. She died in a car accident on Monday, according to her 919k followers on TikTok. Fans are remembering a TikTok star and former Hooters employee who died in a car accident in Florida.
The social media influencer who also worked at Hooters, was active on Instagram and Twitch while juggling her job at the restaurant and her social media presence. Devin Perkins, Spice’s boyfriend, was seriously injured in the crash, she said.
Gillis explained that the friends were on their way home from a night out in Orlando.
Angela Gillis, who spoke to the News-Journal on Tuesday, said Spice was along with her brother Kyle Moser of Daytona Beach, Gillis’ brother, and another friend, Ava Fellerman, were reportedly the other ill-fated victims, according to Gillis. The driver was Devin Perkins, who was seriously injured.
According to Zach Wilkerson of DeLeon Springs and RJ Fleming of DeLand, Perkins was well known in the New Smyrna Beach area as an avid truck fan.
Friends said they’d known Perkins for two years after meeting him at truck shows.
Wilkerson and Fleming believe Perkins and Spice met at a truck event in Daytona.
The driver who caused the crash was driving a Toyota Tacoma west in the eastbound lane of State Road 44 when it collided head-on with Perkins’ car at 2:20 a.m, according to Florida Highway Patrol investigators. The Toyota Tacoma then collided with another vehicle. A third vehicle avoided the collision but collided with debris. A caller reported a lot of debris in the roadway in a brief 9-1-1 recording released Tuesday.

The driver of the Toyota Tacoma fled the scene, and a Volusia County sheriff’s K-9 unit assisting in the search for the suspect was unable to find him, according to troopers. FHP Lt. Tara Crescenzi said on Tuesday that the crash is still under investigation and that no further information will be released. Web fans are devastated about this tragic death.
Gillis expressed dissatisfaction with the length of time it took to notify her family of Moser’s death. According to Gillis, troopers did not notify her mother of her father’s death until 5 p.m. on Sunday. The celebrity star’s TikTok account has now been deactivated.
