The Boston Red Sox called up their No. 2 prospect, Triston Casas, from Triple-A Worcester on Sunday.

The 22-year-old first baseman was batting sixth in the lineup for his debut in Sunday’s series finale against the visiting Texas Rangers.

Casas, a first-round pick by Boston in 2018, is batting .273 with an .863 OPS, 11 homers and 38 RBIs in 72 games this season at Worcester.

The Red Sox also recalled right-hander Josh Winckowski (5-7, 5.83 ERA) from Triple-A to start Sunday’s game.

In corresponding transactions, Boston placed right-hander Kutter Crawford (right shoulder impingement) on the 15-day injured list, optioned infielder Bobby Dalbec to Worcester and transferred right-hander Tanner Houck to the 60-day IL.
