The Los Angeles Dodgers placed reliever Brusdar Graterol on the 15-day injured list Thursday with inflammation of his right elbow.

The designation is retroactive to Wednesday for the 24-year-old right-hander, who is 2-3 with a 3.02 ERA and three saves in 41 appearances out of the bullpen this season. He was on the injured list from July 11 to Aug. 22 with right shoulder inflammation.

The Dodgers also officially activated left-hander Clayton Kershaw (7-3, 2.64 ERA) from the 15-day IL to start against the host New York Mets on Thursday afternoon.

Right-hander Phil Bickford and infielder Miguel Vargas were recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City as major league rosters expand to 28 in the final month of the season.

Bickford, 27, is 2-1 with a 5.14 ERA in 51 games with Los Angeles this season.

Vargas, 22, made his MLB debut on Aug. 3 and was 2-for-8 with two RBIs in two games.
