The Buffalo Bills released punter Matt Haack and wide receiver Tavon Austin and traded guard Cody Ford to the Arizona Cardinals on Monday.

Haack’s departure means rookie sixth-round pick Matt Araiza — dubbed the “Punt God” — won the training camp competition.

The Cardinals sent a fifth-round pick in the 2023 draft to the Bills for Ford, who started 29 games in three seasons since being drafted in the second round out of Oklahoma in 2019.

Haack, 28, played all 17 games for Buffalo last season and averaged 42.9 yards on 52 punts. He spent the previous four seasons with the Miami Dolphins.

Austin, 32, signed a one-year deal with the Bills in free agency in June. He caught 24 passes for 213 yards and one touchdown in 13 games last season with Jacksonville.

A first-round pick by the then-St. Louis Rams in 2013, Austin has 244 receptions for 2,239 yards and 16 scores in 113 games (53 starts) with the Rams (2013-17), Dallas Cowboys (2018-19), Green Bay Packers (2020) and Jaguars.

Araiza, 22, won the Ray Guy Award as the nation’s best punter and was a consensus All-American during his final season at San Diego State in 2021.

The 38th overall pick in the 2019 draft, Ford played in 38 games with the Bills. Ford, 25, has seen time at both guard spots and right tackle, including 15 starts at right tackle in 2019.
