The Chicago White Sox placed center fielder Luis Robert on the COVID-19-related injured list Tuesday.
The team recalled infielder Jake Burger from Triple-A Charlotte in a corresponding move.
The White Sox will not have Robert when they open a five-game homestand Tuesday against the Boston Red Sox. After a three-game set with Boston, they will host the rival Chicago Cubs in a two-game weekend series.
Robert, 24, is hitting .285 with six home runs (a team high) and 17 RBIs through 33 games in 2022, his third season in the major leagues.
He was the runner-up for American League Rookie of the Year in 2020 and won a Gold Glove that season. Last season he played only 68 games, missing three months with a torn hip flexor.
For his career, Robert is a .292 hitter with 30 home runs, 33 doubles and 91 RBIs.
Burger, 26, has played in 21 games for the White Sox this season, hitting .239 with two home runs, two doubles and seven RBIs.
