The WNBA announced Thursday that Chicago will play host to the league’s All-Star Game and festivities in July.
It is the first time Chicago has been selected as the site of All-Star weekend. The All-Star Game is scheduled for Sunday, July 10 at 1 p.m. ET (12 p.m. local time) at Wintrust Arena, the home of the defending league champion Chicago Sky.
The 3-point Contest and Skills Challenge will take place the day before at McCormick Place, the country’s largest convention center. Also that day, participants in the Girls Nike Nationals youth basketball championship will have the opportunity to watch both All-Star teams practice.
Las Vegas hosted the past two WNBA All-Star Games in 2019 and 2021. No festivities were held in 2020 amid the COVID-19 pandemic “bubble” season.
The WNBA season tips off May 6.
