Sophomore guard Jeremy Roach, a key component of Duke’s Final Four run in Mike Krzyzewski’s final season in 2021-22, announced via Instagram Friday that he will return to play for Duke next season under new coach Jon Scheyer.

Roach is an 8.7 points-per-game scorer over his career. As a sophomore last season, he played in 39 games, starting 27 while averaging 29.4 minutes a game and shooting .322 from three-point range.

His performance in the 2022 NCAA Tournament, in which he averaged 11.8 points, 4.0 assists and 1.4 steals per game, earned him West Region All-Tournament honors.

Scheyer, a former Duke player, served as an assistant under Krzyzewski for the past seven seasons before being handed the reigns following the longtime coach’s retirement.
