MLB: Twins put RHP Jorge Alcala (elbow) on IL

The Minnesota Twins put right-hander Jorge Alcala on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with right elbow inflammation.

The post is retroactive to Monday. In a corresponding move, the Twins recalled right-hander Griffin Jax from Triple-A St. Paul.

Alcala, 26, has yet to record a decision or give up a run in two appearances this season. He has two strikeouts in 2 1/3 innings.

Alcala went 3-6 with a 3.92 ERA in 59 appearances for the Twins last season.

Jax pitched in 18 games (14 starts) for the Twins in 2021, going 4-5 with a 6.37 ERA.
