FC Dallas sent longtime defender Ryan Hollingshead to LAFC on Thursday in exchange for left back Marco Farfan.

Hollingshead, 30, leaves FC Dallas after 222 appearances for the club. He scored three goals and five assists last season, and has 20 goals and 12 assists in his eight seasons across all competitions.

Farfan, 23, started 21 games in 29 appearances for LAFC last season. Signed as the Portland Timbers’ first Homegrown Player in 2016, he spent the first four years of his career in Portland before his contract was sold to Los Angeles last season.

Farfan has made on appearance for the U.S. Men’s National Team (2020). Hollingshead was Pac-12 player of the year in 2012 at UCLA.
