The Minnesota Twins have signed veteran infielder Tim Beckham to a minor league contract, The Athletic reported Saturday.

Beckham, 32, was limited to just 45 games last season at Triple-A Charlotte in the Chicago White Sox system due to a knee injury.

The first overall selection by the Tampa Bay Rays in the 2008 MLB Draft, Beckham last appeared in the majors with the Seattle Mariners in 2019. He hit .237 with 15 home runs and 47 RBIs in 88 games with the Mariners.

In 472 games with the Rays (2013, 2015-17), Baltimore Orioles (2017-18) and Mariners (2019), Beckham is a career .249 hitter with 63 home runs and 198 RBIs.
