Utah Jazz All-Star guard Donovan Mitchell cleared the concussion protocol Thursday and is expected to return for their next game after missing eight contests.

The Jazz host the Brooklyn Nets on Friday night. Utah went 2-6 in Mitchell’s absence.

The Jazz have ruled out Rudy Gobert (left calf strain) and Danuel House, who remains in the health and safety protocol. Jordan Clarkson (knee) and Hassan Whiteside (back) are questionable.

Mitchell, 25, sustained the injury during the first half of Utah’s loss against the Los Angeles Lakers on Jan. 17. He finished the game with 13 points, eight rebounds and seven assists, and reportedly began experiencing concussion-like symptoms later that night.

In 40 games this season, Mitchell is averaging 25.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 5.2 assists. He is shooting 45 percent from the field and 33.9 percent from beyond the 3-point line.

The two-time All-Star is in his fifth season with the Jazz.
