Neither Pac-12 program in the state of Oregon were able to fit in their scheduled basketball games Monday.

Oregon’s conference game against Colorado in Eugene was called off due to positive COVID-19 cases within the Ducks’ program. Hours earlier, COVID issues with the Beavers forced the cancellation of Oregon State’s nonconference meeting with Sacramento State.

In Oregon State’s case, it is remarkably the third time the game was called off. The programs were originally scheduled to meet on Dec. 11, but the Beavers (3-10) were dealing with COVID-19 at the time. They rescheduled for Dec. 28, but because inclement weather on the West Coast led to flight cancellations, Sacramento State (4-6) could not travel to Corvallis in time.

They postponed again on Monday. The game was canceled 45 minutes before tip, reports said.

As for the Ducks (8-6, 1-2 Pac-12) and Buffaloes (9-3, 1-1), the Pac-12 was among several conferences last month that tweaked their COVID forfeit policy for the season, allowing for the game to be made up at a later date. It will go down as a “no contest” instead of a forfeit for Oregon if the schools are unable to agree upon a makeup date.
